“We had been considering putting our extensive product catalogue online for quite some time and we were experiencing growing demand from our account customers for online ordering facilities”, says Thamesmead Director - Susan Reeves.  “However we knew we really needed to act once we learned that one of our most important customers had decided to implement the ActiveAccess™ procurement system.”

The Solution

Thamesmead appointed e-Business Systems Limited to design and implement the new e-Commerce web site and integrate it with Thamesmead’s back office systems and with ActiveAccess.  The result is that Thamesmead’s customers can now buy online from Thamesmead’s catalogue of thousands of products.  Each customer sees its own contracted prices.  Customers can either browse or search Thamesmead’s entire catalogue or can quickly enter orders from their ‘favourites’ list of products.  Links between Thamesmead’s back office computer system and the web site mean that the product, price and customer information used by the web site is kept up to date and there is no extra work for Thamesmead staff in re-keying data for the web site.  Purchasers who use ActiveAccess™ find it a very efficient way to place orders – with seamless integration between ActiveAccess and Thamesmead’s web site.
